The Fort Worth Employees' Retirement Fund was created by an ordinance approved and adopted by City Council September 12, 1945. Original membership of the fund was 1,209. Today, membership has grown to more than 9,000.

The Retirement Fund Board of Trustees was originally composed of nine members. Today, 13 members make up the Retirement Fund Board and a 14 member staff manages the daily operations and administration of the fund. Regular board meetings are held every fourth Wednesday of the month in the Retirement Office board room located at 3801 Hulen Street, Suite 101, Fort Worth, TX 76107. Meetings are open to the fund's membership.
