Andrea Wright - Place 4 Active General Employee Group D
Andrea Wright, Acting Assistant Facility & Public Events Director in Public Events at the City of Fort Worth, was elected to the Retirement Fund Board in 2018 by Group D employees. She is a Chair of the Audit & Budget Committee, and a member of the Communications, Investment and Ad-Hoc (Governance) Committees.
In her position with the city, Andrea provides complex administration support to the Public Events Director on financial and human resource issues and administrative activities, and performs a wide variety of complex analytical support duties related to organizational analysis, budget preparation and monitoring. She manages five operating funds totaling more than $59 million and four capital project funds, as well as administrative, human resources and finance employees. Andrea joined the City of Fort Worth in 2012 as Management Analyst II in the City Manager’s Office, Budget and Research. She has been in Public Events since March 2013.
Prior to moving to Fort Worth, Andrea worked for the City of Pontiac, Michigan for 17 ½ years, where she served as the Budget Director. In addition, she served as a member of the Pontiac General Employee Retirement System from 2006 to 2011, during which time that Board received the Outstanding Small Pension Plan Award for 2010. Other board experience includes the Pontiac Neighborhood Housing Authority and the Pontiac Hospital Finance Authority.
Andrea earned a Bachelor’s degree in in Business Administration from Kent State University in Ohio, where she received the New Millennium Outstanding Alumni Award in 2000. She earned her Master’s degree in Administration from Central Michigan University. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc.
