Andrea Wright is the Assistant Director over Fiscal & Administrative Services for the Public Events Department. She manages five operating funds totaling over $75 million, four capital project funds, and administrative, HR and finance employees.  Andrea has been with the City for 10 years. She has a vast knowledge and understanding of issues facing municipalities and pension funds.

Andrea is retired from the City of Pontiac. She was elected to the Pontiac General Employee Retirement System (GERS) in 2006 and re-elected in 2008 and 2010.  Andrea served with integrity and diligence. During her time on the pension board, the fund’s assets grew from $401 million to $422 million. 

Andrea was elected to the Fort Worth Employees’ Retirement Fund in 2018 and re-elected in 2020. She participates with the HLO & MLK and Juneteenth committees. She is an active member of the National Forum of Black Public Administrators and serves on the Nominating Committee. Andrea is also on the Nominating Committee of the Fort Worth City Credit Union. She recently completed Venue Management School and was elected Treasurer of IAVM Region 6. 

Andrea is an avid sports fan and cheers for her hometown teams in Cleveland. Andrea earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kent State University & a master’s degree in Administration from Central Michigan University.  She is a life member of her alumni association and active in both Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (FWA) and Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc. Andrea has two young adult children and one grandson.  

Andrea serves on the Board's Audit and Budget Committee and the Communications Committee.
