Welcome

If you wish to address the Board of Trustees for the Employees’ Retirement Fund, please follow the suggestions listed below:

  1. Please read the Public Comment Guidelines and provide the required information so that the Chairperson may recognize you promptly at the appropriate time.

  2. Please state your name and city of residence when you begin your remarks before the Board.

  3. Presentations are limited to 3 minutes per agenda item (up to a total of 9 minutes) for individuals.  When speaking on behalf of 5 or more in a group, presentations are limited to 6 minutes per agenda item (up to a total of 18 minutes) shared between no more than 2 speakers.   Other members of the group must be present, but cannot speak.  The Chairperson MUST be advised prior to the start that a group presentation will be made.  THE CHAIRPERSON MAY ASK THAT THE GROUP MEMBERS STAND TO CONFIRM THAT 5 INDIVIDUALS ARE PRESENT.

  4. Your presentation is timed by Retirement Fund staff and when the signal is given, your presentation is over.

  5. Twice as much time is given to those requiring a translator to address the Board.

TIPS FOR MAKING SUCCESSFUL PRESENTATIONS TO THE EMPLOYEES’ RETIREMENT FUND.

  • State your name and city of residence at the start of your presentation.

  • If your point has been made by previous speakers, you may inform the Chairperson that you do not need to speak because your point has been raised.

  • Visual aids, other than handouts, are not allowed.  If you choose to use a handout, 18 copies of any handout must be provided to staff prior to the presentation. Employees’ Retirement Fund is subject to the Texas Public Information Act and information you present to the Board may be requested by the public in accordance with the Act.

  • Address your remarks to the Chair and the entire Board, rather than to a specific member, to the audience, or to Fund staff.
