A happy retirement usually doesn’t happen on its own--you have to make it happen. Fortunately, you don’t have to do it all on your own. This fall, the Fund is offering TWO great seminars to help you with your planning.

Running the Numbers: Retirement with Calculations and Worksheets

Do you ever wonder how we calculate retiree pensions? Would you like to know what we estimate YOUR benefit will be? Get the inside scoop at this seminar. Fund staff will explain the formulas we use to calculates benefit. Then we’ll let you review your own current estimate and ask questions about it.

Because this seminar is so popular, we are offering TWO sessions on the same day, Wednesday, Aug. 31. The first session will be 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., and the second will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. When you                  Attorney Travis Weaver will speak on wills and trusts.
register, please be sure to specify which session you want to attend.

Wills and Trusts: What You Need to Know

Do you have a will or trust? And have you ever wondered, “What the heck am I supposed to do with this thing as my life changes?” If so, you can get many of your questions answered at our next seminar, titled, “Wills, Probate, and Estate Planning for 55+.” Our presenter will be Travis Weaver, an attorney with the Weaver Firm.

Travis will give a short presentation providing basic information on wills and trusts. After that, it’s YOUR time: You are welcome to ask more specific questions about wills, trusts, probate, and other legal needs for people age 55 and older.

Travis holds a B.A. and an M.B.A. and received his law degree from Texas Tech. He has more than seven years of legal experience and is a member of the Texas State Bar and Denton County Bar Association. In 2021, he was included on Texas Monthly’s list of “Rising Star” attorneys. This is a great opportunity to get a better understanding of wills, trusts, and other legal matters that are likely to be relevant to retirees.

The seminar will be Thursday, Sept. 1, at 10 a.m.

All three seminars are free and will be held at the Fund office, 3801 Hulen Street. However, registration is required and seating is limited. To register or get more information, email Ask@FWRetirement.org or call 817-632-8900. Make plans now to join us!
