You can take that to the bank
City employee and retirees know how important it is to understand how the City’s pension plan works. That’s why current City workers will want to make plans to attend our retirement planning seminar, 10 a.m. to noon Friday, July 14. The seminar will consist of two sessions.
In the first hour, attendees will learn about TIAA, the 457 retirement plan offered by the City. A 457 plan allows participants to invest money on a tax-deferred basis. The session will be presented by Brandon Dyson (right), a consultant with TIAA.
In the second hour, attendees will learn the basics of the City’s pension system, including how benefits are calculated and about the Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP). This session will be presented by Fund staff. Both sessions will allow time for questions and answers.
The seminar is free and open to all City of Fort Worth employees. However, seating is limited, and reservations are required. To make a reservation, please call 817-632-8900.
Retirees know that the City’s pension is a “defined benefit” plan that is designed to pay them for life. That’s why the Fund encourages active employees to not put off learning how the pension works. If you know someone who is planning to retire anytime in the next few years, this seminar can provide valuable information. Tell them to register now for this informative and important seminar!
